In Response To: door header leaks (Cara DUTY)

Cara,

Sounds like you have some pretty big hole(s) if you have wildlife taking up residence!

Water coming in, is more than likely a roof problem assuming that your bedroom door is not on the outside wall (where it could be leaking from direct exposure to the rain.)

More than likely, the water is not coming in directly over where the door is. It is coming in somewhere above around a flashing, chimminy, vent pipe, or other item 'poking' through the roof. (or there is roofing material actually missing). If there are two of you that are nimble enough to to it, you can probably find it. One person with a water hose on the roof, and one person in the attic (if you have an attic).

Bottom line is that there is a leak. It has to come in somewhere.

But before you do anything, call animal control and get that pest out of the house. A wet coon might not be very nice.

Good luck!
