Eletrical hookup for dryer

Posted By: Tamra Hamlett

We changed a AC recepticle in the wall to a dryer recepticle. It tested 220. The dryer runs, but when it has even the lightest load of clothes it kicks off the breaker box. The dryer will run a complete cycle empty. We bought the house from a handy man so we are not sure if the wiring is correct. The dryer is installed in the garage due to venting problems in the house.. another story in itself. Can any one help...desperate need for large family.
