Lower level heating

Hello!!!! I am finishing a basement (1200 sq. ft) for a Mother-in-law quarters. The walls are insulated and dry walled. The house is a 2 year old 1960 sq. ft. Ranch in Missouri. Builder says that the heating/cooling unit has beensized to include finishing the basement. What challenges am I upagainst (and their solutions) in getting and maintaing the average temp. down there from 66 (current temp) to 72 degrees? I have 12.5 ducts upstairs and 1.5 ducts downstairs with 2 6"x14" cold air returns downstairs right now. Also, would it help if I increased the size of my blower motor?? I am assuming that I have a 1/2hp motor on the current blower. Should I cut-in 4 lower ducts and add a fireplace?

Thank you for your time!!!!!!!!
