A Handyman Helping Hand

tongue & groove decking

I plan on using 2x6 fir tongue & groove decking on the look out deck of my children's play house. I want to keep the enclosed area under the deck dry, but for the safety of the children, I do not want to put roofing paper on the deck. Should I put a thin bead of silicon caulk in each groove during installation? I plan on sealing the deck with Thompson's wood sealer or a similar product. I look forward to hearing any suggestions.

Thank you
