In Response To: warped plywood cabinet doors (Rob Smith)

Rob -------

Some plywoods have a mind of their own!! If the warp amount is not much - 1/4" or so, you might try a heavy duty magnet (designed for full size closet doors) or some type of mechanical latch that you would turn or push to open or close the door. Mount the latch so when you pushed the door closed, with some force, the door would be fairly straight. The in 40 or 50 years the door might straighten itself out.

If you decide to replace the door, use 3/4 plywood that has a MDF (medium density fibreboard) core or one with a lumber core. These are much more stable plywoods. Good luck, Roger
