In Response To: Garage door openers (Karole Hollar)

Karole,

I'm afraid that unless you check with the local Genie Dealer/installer, or someone that has installed a like model... that you are asking for a lot of head scratching. Like anything else, without instructions and/or experience it is difficult to install something you have never seen installed before.

I would offer the following though. Many times the model and serial numbers are hidden below covers. If you haven't removed the light cover, the housing cover, and turned it over and around a few times, you might be missing a data plate that would help a bunch. With the model number you might be able to track down the Genie instructions and at least have a fighting chance...

Sorry I couldn't be more help. Even in a small town you should be able to find an overhead door company that could steer you in the right direction to an experienced installer. Someone that wouldn't need the instructions and would know if there were parts and pieces missing....

Good luck!!
