Deck Preservation (Redwood)

Posted By: Ed Denton

I've just completed stripping, brightening and sanding my 15 year old redwood deck. An awful chore I intend never to do again. Actually, the stripping and bleaching probably didn't need doing, as the sanding took it right down to the original, natural, pink redwood color. A few days in the sun have turned it a beautiful light tan color. Perfect! Now my dilema. What in the world can I do to retain (for a reasonably long period of time) this beautiful, natural redwood color? Is it unreasonable to think there's any way at all of defeating the natural darkening of redwood? Any advice would be appreciated.
