In Response To: water on floor in basement around furnace (TAMELA)

Is the furnace forced air or hot water heat? Does the furnace also heat you domestic hot water? If it is a hot water furnace there is plenty of potential for a major leak. If it is forced air and you have a central humidifier, perhaps the the humidifier fill is stuck open. If you have central air and have been using it maybe the condensation is leaking out instead of going to the drain. Sorry that I don't have a specific answer for you but that much water could cause considerable damage to the finished portion of the basement and also pose a health hazard with mold and mildew. Don't ignore the situation.
