In Response To: Installing screen (Earle Wollam)

I was just introduced to a new screening product by a customer of mine.

It consists of a vinyl base that gets screwed to the wood. The base has molded right into it channels to take screen spline. You spline the screen into place using a spline roller, then there is a special vinyl cover that mounts over the base when done.

Its still a pain to screen with this method but it does produce tight as a drum screening. It's a bit more expensive that using staples and screen bead, but there is no painting or staining of wood either.

Product is called 'Screen Tight' and is available thru Lowe's.
