Water heater leak

Posted By: Mike Bari

I have a 3 year old(approx) A.O. Smith water heater that suddenly developed a slow leak from the top where the pipe(s) enter the tank. There is a little rust and blistering where the cold water enters. I stopped any fixes before I got some advice. Shoud I leave it to a plumber, spray some kind of stop leak stuff....? I'v shut the main valve off and am not using the hot w unless really necessary. What do you think?...Thanks MB
