Masonry Concrete

old brick
by: Marcia posted: Sunday - September 30, 2018
My house is about 145 years old. It is a brick rowhouse in the historic section of Capitol Hill DC.
The brick has never been painted. We have noticed particularly with the wet weather we have been having that when you touch the brick, your hands are covered in a chalky red dust.

Is this anything to worry about? The only issue for us is that this red dust winds up on the steps turning the bottom of our shoes red.

Thank you, Marcia
