We have an old, hollow core, set of French doors that lead into our garage. Total width 48, height 80. Where do you recommend finding a low cost replacement for these? Any other options you would suggest to replace doors this size?
Go to Leow's, Home Depot, or your local hardware outlet
that carries different types of mill work and show them
what you're replacing. I'd take a couple of pics if you
think it would help to give them the idea of what you need.
I'm not sure what you mean by "low cost". Any decent door
won't be cheap. Do these doors lead into your garage from
an interior room in your house (like a mud room), or are they
exterior doors? Either way, they'll cost $$. Where we live,
there is a 'recycling' place that sells used windows, doors,
countertops, etc. They're a division of Habitat for Humanity.
I don't know if you have a local business like that . . .
if you do, you can save a lot of $$.
